Brockdin Barr

Designer in Chief

Brockdin Barr Brockdin is a multi award-winning web site designer (best NZ music website award 2000), Tower Design Competition Winner (Ireland 2003), has taught tertiary level multimedia (MAINZ 2004-2007) and has worked in the web design studios responsible for the online presence of world leading brands and musicians such as PlayStation, Ford, Nissan, U2, Sting, Elvis Costello and Tom Jones.

He is an expert in front-end web design - the primary components of what makes websites look and feel great; Graphic Design for the web, HTML and CSS coding. Brockdin has a wealth of knowledge in the way the web works, from search engines, usability, web standards, social media and database driven content management systems in between.

Brockdin is passionate and committed to building websites that help businesses and organisations grow.

An obsessive music fan Brockdin's past includes radio presentation & programming, music press journalism and several years as an audio engineer at The Radio Network in Auckland.

Brockdin enjoys at least one cup of espresso coffee per day (everyday) and has a personal blog about shipping containers used in housing construction.

Stephanie Haskell

Business Development Manager

Stephanie Haskell Steph is Catchlight's marketing, copywriting and content guru. After spending a few years working in marketing roles and many more in education Steph now enjoys managing client content, training and creating practical web marketing strategies for Catchlight clients.

Steph enjoys learning about our clients' passions and loves spotting opportunities where we can help them succeed. Web-savvy with a broad understanding of website usability, social media, marketing and the web development process, Steph is a specialist in making practical connections to make the web work better for Catchlight clients.

Steph is also a keen photographer and enjoys working on a portfolio of images of her family and friends, especially her daughters Bluebell and Willow.

The Catchlight Story

In 1999 Brockdin Barr created his first professional website. Within a year the site won the b.net Best New Zealand Music Website Award of 2000 and this recognition meant that a host of New Zealand music industry clients came knocking and Catchlight Design was born.

Catchlight are now considered amongst the leaders in the field of web standard compliant web designers, adopting the web production discipline as early as 2002.

At Catchlight quality is more than a passion, it's a given with each project. At the same time, we believe in providing measurable value to clients and 'keeping it simple' when guiding clients through web technology. Catchlight have clients throughout New Zealand and in Ireland, United Kingdom, Norway and Australia.
